At Vizag General Cargo Berth, the belief of social investment is at the core, and extensive focus is placed on returning to the society multi-folds of what is being utilized. We seek to make a positive impact and improve the quality of living of the community adjacent to our operations. Primarily, our CSR initiatives are rooted in six slums in the city of Vizag, which are near to the area of our operations. The projects are designed aligning to the community needs mapped through an assessment study, national priorities and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. We work across the following thematic areas:

Approach
- Close partnership with the Government, civil societies/NGOs/Foundations and the community.
- In house designing and implementation on ground.
- Grants to credible organizations that positively impact VGCB’s focus areas.
Governance
- VGCB Exco reviews the progress of the ongoing projects and the expenditure incurred in community investment programs monthly.
- VGCB CSR Board Committee approves annual CSR budget and ensures that activities being undertaken are as per the Board policy and reviews the progress annually.
